Services Offered
Psychotherapy (CRPO Registered)
- Available to Ontario residents only due to licensing requirements
- Provided by a College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) member
- Subject to professional ethical guidelines and standards
- Not a substitute for emergency services
Academic Coaching
- Available to students at all education levels
- Focuses on study strategies, time management, and academic skills
- Not a substitute for tutoring in specific subject areas
- Does not constitute psychotherapy or mental health treatment
Sports Performance Coaching
- Mental skills training for athletes
- Focus on performance enhancement, not treatment of mental health conditions
- Does not constitute psychotherapy or counseling
Appointment Scheduling & Cancellations
Booking
Appointments can be booked through our online booking system or by contacting us directly. You will receive a confirmation email with session details.
Cancellation Policy
- 24-Hour Notice Required: Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling
- Late Cancellations: Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be charged the full session fee
- No-Shows: Failure to attend a scheduled session without notice will result in the full session fee
- Emergency Situations: Exceptions may be made for genuine emergencies or illness
Fees & Payment
- Fees are discussed during the initial consultation
- Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made
- Accepted payment methods include [specify methods]
- Packages must be paid in full before first session (unless payment plan arranged)
- Refunds are provided on a case-by-case basis, minus any sessions completed
Insurance & Third-Party Billing
For psychotherapy services, many extended health insurance plans cover registered psychotherapy. Clients are responsible for verifying their coverage and submitting claims. We can provide receipts for insurance purposes but do not bill insurance directly.
Confidentiality
All information shared during sessions is confidential and protected under professional ethical guidelines and privacy legislation. Exceptions to confidentiality include:
- Risk of harm to self or others
- Suspected child abuse or neglect
- Court order or legal requirement
- Written consent from client
Virtual Sessions
Sessions are conducted virtually via secure video conferencing platforms. By participating in virtual sessions, you acknowledge:
- You will participate from a private, confidential location
- You are responsible for ensuring stable internet connection
- Technical difficulties may occasionally occur
- You consent to the use of virtual platforms for service delivery
Limitations of Service
Not Emergency Services
Our services are not appropriate for crisis situations or emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please:
- Call 911
- Go to your nearest emergency room
- Contact a crisis line (Ontario: 1-866-531-2600 or 988)
Scope of Practice
Services are provided within the scope of professional competence and ethical guidelines. Referrals to other professionals may be made when appropriate.
Client Responsibilities
As a client, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Attend scheduled sessions on time
- Communicate openly and honestly
- Complete any agreed-upon homework or practice
- Notify us of any concerns or questions
- Follow the cancellation policy
Professional Boundaries
Our relationship is professional in nature. Dual relationships (social, business, or personal relationships outside of sessions) are not permitted as they may compromise the therapeutic relationship and effectiveness of services.
Communication Between Sessions
- Email is acceptable for scheduling and brief administrative matters
- Email is not secure and should not be used for clinical content
- Response time to non-urgent emails is typically within 1-2 business days
- Phone calls are returned within 24 hours on business days
Termination of Services
Either party may terminate services at any time. Reasons for termination may include:
- Mutual agreement that goals have been met
- Services are not beneficial or appropriate
- Non-payment of fees
- Violation of professional boundaries or policies
- Client preference
Referrals to other providers can be provided when appropriate.
Complaints & Disputes
If you have concerns about services, please discuss them directly first. If concerns cannot be resolved:
- For psychotherapy services: Contact the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
- For general disputes: Seek mediation or appropriate dispute resolution
Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide high-quality services, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Services are provided "as is" and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from services provided.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page and take effect immediately. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
